Electra Karanasiu
With 20+ years of international experience across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, Electra Karanasiu is a Senior Sustainability & Strategic Transformation Advisor specialising in translating sustainability ambitions into measurable business outcomes. She advises organisations at the intersection of sustainability, digital transformation and strategic execution, leveraging data, technology, governance and operational excellence to drive enterprise-wide change, strengthen decision-making and create long-term value.
Her career includes more than 15 years with EY and PwC, delivering sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, greenhouse gas accounting, human rights reviews, sustainability performance frameworks and digital transformation initiatives, enabling organisations to embed sustainability into governance, operations and business performance.
During the final nine years of her PwC career, she held several senior regional leadership roles, including Chief of Staff to the Middle East Managing Partner, Senior Manager within the Leadership Team, and Net Zero & Sustainability Lead, leading programmes that resulted in the Middle East's first commercial WELL v2 Platinum Certification and a 69% reduction in operational emissions.
Earlier in her career,she developed a strong foundation in environmental and social sustainability through environmental and social impact assessments (ESHIAs) for major infrastructure and energy projects, complemented by international humanitarian work in India and Bolivia.
Electra holds an MBA in International Relations and Commerce, an International Master's degree in Sustainable Development, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management and Tourism Studies. She is GRI Certified and a member of the Dubai Recycling Business Group.
